This game has no waggle or IR of any kind. You play with the Wii Remote + Nunchuk or the classic controller. We are also looking into GC controller support. From the beginning, we wanted this to be a gamer's game.
this is not a kiddie game by any means; C'mon, I assistant directed Contra 4! Blob should have a smooth difficulty curve and a great challenge, just like Super Mario Galaxy or The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Parents can play the game with their kids, kids can play the game by themselves, and hardcore gamers can sink their teeth into the meaty challenge as we keep the 2D dream alive.
Deja vislumbrar algunas buenas intenciones, pero si Super Mario Galaxy y Ocarina of Time son sus referentes para "great challenge", ya nos podemos olvidar. Además, los vídeos demuestran que el núcleo de la mecánica es terriblemente errado. Redefine el concepto de "aburrimiento".
We are going to change the expectation of what people think of when you hear "2D Game." Soon when someone mentions a 2D game the response will be "Oh, you mean like 'A Boy and His Blob'?"
Lo peor no es que se atreva a decir esto conociendo (puedes apostar) Odin Sphere e incluso Oboro Muramasa (ignorar deliberadamente la producción japonesa contemporánea siempre fue una constante en el desarrollador occidental a la hora de sentenciar sobre estándares, al fin y al cabo), sino que se pierda que este Boy and his Blob, por mucho color y resolución que contenga, sigue estando lejos de la calidad visual de obras que tienen ya 20 años (enlace).
Aún así, sigo pensando que es un paso en la buena dirección y me alegra leerles que su apuesta para futuro son los gráficos "bitmap". Con suerte, este "remake" les enseñará que hay que preocuparse también del aspecto mecánico y conceptual y su siguiente proyecto se convierte en algo más prometedor.

Looks like it's inspired more by Abe's Odyssey than an action game like Daiku no Gensan. With that being the case we just have to hope that the puzzles will get more complicated than the one shown in that first screen.

The problem with the videos they have shown is not only that the puzzles are stupidly easy, but that they seem like filler for an action game with no action at all:

Anyhow you just can't make a puzzle game suitable for 8-years-old kids and adults at the same time, as they say. Unless they're making three or four different and independent "subgames", which I'd hardly believe. Especially with that aesthetics.

Cuando el boy utiliza al blob para que se transforme en agujero, las animaciones asustan...
En fín, otro juego de occidente que quiere, pero que no tiene, no puede, ni se entera...
