Platform: PC/MAC on Steam

I don't have much experience in building a metroidvania type map, so I'm making a few safe bets with this one.
There's a single main path you travel, but it has a few points where you can wander off to explore secrets or sequence break. The game will push you towards the optimal path though. The secret areas (most of the time) start and end near transports to make sure there's minimal backtracking.

So far the game is also playable in NES resolution though, and I'll try to keep it that way and add an option for "classic" mode. I've also found a pretty good shader for a CRT effect (thanks to Copy Girl devlog) that adds scanlines between pixels when the game is scaled 2x or greater.

I just implemented the parry mechanic. If you tap towards an incoming projectile, it will get parried and you receive spirit points to use in special attacks. There's a tiny slowdown in time too that allows you to retaliate instantly from the parry. A parried projectile causes a pushback, but you can either push against it to cancel the pushback, or push away to carry the momentum.
