Xeno Crisis is a new, original title for the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis which will be released both as a physical cartridge and also as a downloadable ROM. At its core, it's an arena shooter that takes inspiration from the likes of Smash TV, Contra, Mercs, Granada, Alien Syndrome, Zombies Ate My Neighbours, Chaos Engine, and Shock Troopers.

We want the game to look, feel and sound like the classic Mega Drive games of the '80s and '90s, but also add some new elements that weren't so common in games of that era, particularly procedural map generation and randomisation of gameplay elements. Achieving that classic look and feel is vitally important to us, which is why we've teamed up with legendary pixel artist Henk Nieborg

Due to popular demand and some initial feedback from testing we decided to add a melee attack for both marines. So we managed to convince Henk Nieborg to take a break from his next project (which looks amazing!) and create us some awesome melee animations. It’s a great addition and really comes in useful when you’re running low on ammo or just want to finish an enemy in style! In some cases it’s actually more advantageous to use the melee attack, but we’ll let you find those out…

El día 28 se anuncia la salida de la versión WIN en Steam, y no tengo muy claro si la original de MD y el resto se empiezan a distribuir el mismo día:

Disponible en las plataformas de descarga de WIN GOG y Steam, de PS4, de NS y de XBO en Occidente. Se supone que las versiones para formatos antiguos no tardarán.

we had to jump on the Dreamcast heavily this last month or so to finalise it, but now it’s complete we can focus all of our efforts on the Neo Geo. Fortunately our codebase shares a lot of common code and a number of the features and changes from the Mega Drive we implemented for Dreamcast also benefit the Neo Geo.
