Ha recibido recientemente soporte, vía parche, de 'arcade stick', así que merece por fin una mención:

I mean, isn't it by now obvious why, even in purely thematic terms, something like Super Mario World is infinitely more immersive than tripe like Braid or Knytt or Passage? Ask yourselves: How can it be that the childish platformer is more immersive than the "serious" platformer? PERHAPS BECAUSE THE VERY CONCEPT OF THE PLATFORMER IS CHILDISH TO BEGIN WITH, AND CONSEQUENTLY WORKS BETTER WHEN PAIRED WITH AN EQUALLY CHILDISH THEME?

Oh yeah. I forgot to mention this was for retail games only. EGG is indeed amazing for its catalog. It has many arcade titles. Nichibutsu's have been there for some years now if I recall, and recently DECO was added. Project EGG does deserve an article for Western audiences, so maybe I'll be hearing you in the future.

Tema: Official ports of arcade games for Japanese WIN. (14 respuestas, enviadas el English talk)
So even if most of these are irrelevant thanks to MAME/consoles or due to their low-profile nature I guess it's time we get a proper catalog of what was made in this area for the sake of documentation.
First thing to note is that many of them were released through Mediakite's Yuu-Yuu budget series. This is a label for rereleases of products from other companies, but it seems many of these were originally launched this way. Mediakite also had a series for MD ports. Didn't last for too long, but at least they picked Gunstar Heroes.
There are a lot of these arcade ports for other Asian markets and indeed Cyberfront's SNK titles were based on Taiwanese versions by other companies, if I recall.
It'll be interesting to know with the time which ones of these use emulation, or even MAME, and their accuracy. I'm still to decide if they'll get a place in Postback 2.0, though.
